Food
/by Nathaniel HoytFood.
One of the most basic needs for people is food. At 2nd Chance, we aim to meet that need by serving meals on campus.
… Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.
John 21:17
Why We do it
“Up at dawn! That’s how we roll.” Sunday morning the doors of the church are opened while it is still dark outside by the kitchen crew. Committed to making a wonderful meal, including pastries, coffee, and a breakfast feast for the patrons of God’s house. Join us each and every Sunday!!!!

Clothes Closet
/by Nathaniel HoytClothes Closet.
There is a serious need for men’s clothing, due to the high volume of men in the homeless ministry program.
Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.
Matthew 5:42
Why We do it
The needs of an individual vary from situation to situation. We at 2nd Chance Baptist Church believe we have a spiritual duty to attempt to meet that need when and where it exists. Helping those who have less is our responsible service. The clothes closet offers gently worn clothing, hygiene and food items to those who have found themselves in need through a variety of life changing circumstances.
How This Works
1 We Receive the Donations: Donations are the backbone of this ministry and your help is very much needed and appreciated. The prayer is that some will give so that many can receive.

Will these times not work for you?
Simply call (972) 978-2930, and someone will try to meet you at the church.
2 Fill out a card on Sunday Mornings

3 Fulfill and Distribute Clothing We will receive the Sunday morning cards and the Homeward Bound cards and attempt to satisfy the orders as best we can. We give out individual grocery bags with their names on it with whatever items we had for them for Sunday and Tuesday.

Bus Commuting
/by Nathaniel HoytBus Commuting.
The bus ministry serves those without transportation. Giving a new meaning to where the rubber meets the road.
When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.”
Luke 5:19
Why We do it
There are many people who stay at or near the Salvation Army or Homeward Bound who do not have a way to get to 2nd Chance Baptist. By providing a means to get to the church, the men and women receive a meal with fellowship time and experience worship and a sermon. This time of restoration in a safe setting is available to more of Dallas residents through this transportation plan. We believe in giving opportunities to people, and are happy to meet them where they are at and bring them to church.
Bringing people to church begins with a tank of gas, a yellow bus, and a dedicated driver. Just one of our attempts to love like Jesus has taught us.
